Harriet Poni Dumba and Agnes Oswaha, cofounders of HAH-S, come from Southern Sudan.  Fleeing persecution, they resettled in the U.S. 12 and 9 years ago respectively.  Though they appreciate the opportunities their adopted country gives them, they both maintain strong ties to the families and country they left behind, and as such are dedicated to bringing health, social justice and peace to their people and their homeland.

HAH-S board members include both Sudanese and non-Sudanese health care specialists with long established public health and health promotion experience, as well as a number of members who have worked with African populations both in Africa and in the US.  The President of HAH-S (Harriet Dumba), the Vice President (Agnes Oswaha), as well as a number of board members have established close and respected connections to the community in the Washington State area over the last 12 years, including links to established organizations representing the South Sudanese.
